I learned several important lessons after attending this Debt Collection training course. First, the course opened my eyes to the importance of the steps to use in revenue collections. This training showed me the importance and relevance of being a collector. I learned how to fuse collection reports to determine a feasibility study, and to set up my department for best productivity collector's caller training, and the various types of collections letters that are available. I have gained valuable insight on how to, and how not to, speak to customers/clients, especially when they are irate. Active listening skills is an art that I can develop because it is extremely important in everyday situations. There were a number of areas that were covered in the workshop, of which I had no previous knowledge. I definitely will be implementing some of these strategies I learnt. I enjoyed the lecturer's style of teaching because personal examples were used and several slides were introduced to demonstrate a better understanding of some topics that were discussed in the lecture.
